USB Extends Cable Modems
Under the Broadband Initiative, IAL engineers have added Universal Serial Bus (USB) technology to the DOCSIS standards-based cable modem technology. USB technology makes installation easier, resulting in lower costs.

Intel® JMedia Player Now Available
IAL's Internet Media Initiative recently delivered the Intel JMedia Player, which allows developers to incorporate audio and video into Java* programs, running under Windows* 95 or Windows NT*. The runtimes are freely licensed for redistribution and are available here.

Intel Indeo Media Kit is an authoring tool multimedia developers can use to create high-quality, scaleable audio and video content on the Internet. As part of the Internet Media Initiative, IAL originally developed these software technologies to advance video & audio compression for low bandwidth viewing. Now these components form the foundation of the Intel Indeo Media Kit.
