May 4-6: IAL Technical Marketing Engineers Karthik Ranjan and Jeff Einarson will demonstrate Universal Serial Bus (USB) Cable Modems at the National Cable Trade Association's Cable '98 conference in Atlanta, GA.

May 7: IAL's Steve Junkins will present "Multiresolution Meshes: A Solution for Creating Scalable 3D Games" at the Computer Game Developers Conference in Long Beach, CA.

May 8: IAL's Mike Rosenzweig will talk about "Triangle Strip Generation for Real-Time 3D Games" at the Computer Game Developers Conference in Long Beach, CA.

May 8: IAL's Mark Leavy will explain "DirectSound* Retained Mode (DSRM)" at the Computer Game Developers Conference in Long Beach, CA.

     

USB Extends Cable Modems

Under the Broadband Initiative, IAL engineers have added Universal Serial Bus (USB) technology to the DOCSIS standards-based cable modem technology. USB technology makes installation easier, resulting in lower costs.

Intel® JMedia Player Now Available

IAL's Internet Media Initiative recently delivered the Intel JMedia Player, which allows developers to incorporate audio and video into Java* programs, running under Windows* 95 or Windows NT*. The runtimes are freely licensed for redistribution and are available here.
